Opuntea helps people coordinate real-world activities. This page explains what we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have over your data.
What we collect
When you use Opuntea, we may collect your phone number, profile information, session and RSVP activity, group membership, messages needed for coordination, reliability signals, and device tokens for notifications. Access-request forms may also include your name, email, organization, and location.
How we use it
We use this information to run sessions and communities reliably, provide support, prevent abuse, and communicate about activity you join.
Legal bases and purpose
We process personal data to perform the services you request, maintain platform reliability and security, comply with legal obligations, and support legitimate operational interests such as abuse prevention, diagnostics, and product quality improvements.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.
Analytics, logs, and device data
We collect technical data such as device identifiers, app version, crash traces, and service logs to monitor performance, investigate incidents, and keep coordination workflows dependable.
Your privacy rights
In the Opuntea app, open Settings to:
- Export account data — download a JSON snapshot of your profile and coordination records.
- Request account deletion — start automated erasure of your profile, credentials, and personal records.
If the in-app path does not cover what you need, email support@opuntea.com with the phone number on the account and the privacy action you want us to review.
Retention
We keep account data while your account is active. Temporary uploads are removed within 24 hours. When you request deletion, we scrub personal identifiers, remove your public profile, and delete your authentication account. Some coordination history may retain anonymized references so other participants' records remain intact.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect account data, including authenticated access controls and monitored infrastructure. No system can guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and account credentials.
International data transfers
Opuntea and our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers under applicable law.
Service providers
Opuntea runs on Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, cloud functions, analytics, crash reporting, and push delivery). Apple and Google provide app distribution and notification delivery infrastructure.
Children's privacy
Opuntea is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that personal data was submitted by a child below the minimum legal age without appropriate permission, we will take steps to delete that data.
Policy updates
We revise this page when the product, law, or operating model changes. The date above changes when the policy changes.
