How Opuntea works
Sessions are how Opuntea plans real play: time, place, capacity, and who is coming.
What is a session?
A session is a planned playing time with a location, a capacity, and a clear list of who is coming. It is how Opuntea turns interest into a real plan.
Hosts create sessions. Players RSVP or join a waitlist. After the session ends, it can appear in Session history.
What is Match record?
Match record is your competitive history: ladder, league, or tournament results that have been logged and verified in Opuntea.
It is not the same thing as Session history. A result can be recorded without that specific playing time being treated as a session.
Why can Match record have games while Session history is empty?
Because they are tracked separately.
- Match record: competition results and official outcomes.
- Session history: planned play coordinated through Opuntea.
If a match is logged and verified, it can appear in Match record even if it was not an Opuntea-hosted session.
How do connections and following work?
Follow keeps you updated on a player or organizer.
Connection is a closer relationship for people you coordinate with regularly.
You do not need to follow everyone to join sessions or take part in a community. Opuntea is built around coordination first, not social browsing.
How do RSVP and waitlist work?
RSVP confirms your place when there is space. If the session is full, you can request a waitlist spot. The host controls who moves up.
What does verified mean?
A verified result has been confirmed by the people involved or by the host, depending on the setup. It is the part of the system that helps trust signals and match history feel reliable.
Unverified results are still visible, but they are not treated as confirmed.
How does reliability work?
Reliability is based on real evidence: attendance, cancellations, and verified play. It is not a vanity metric based on likes or profile polish.
How does DUPR connect?
DUPR can sit alongside Opuntea as a rating source. It gives you context on playing level, while Opuntea still tracks the actual session and result flow.
What about account, privacy, and notifications?
Sign-in uses phone verification. You can export or delete account data from Settings → Privacy & Legal.
Notifications cover session reminders and coordination updates. You can turn them off in iOS Settings.
If you need help with an account issue, a privacy request, or anything tied to a real session, email the team through Support.
